Kilo is excited to introduce Kent Nielsen as the newest member of the Kilo team in the role of Renewable Energy EIT.
Kent is a graduate of Dalhousie University’s Electrical Engineering program, grew up on a farm in Alberta and has developed a passion for renewable energy that fits well with the Kilo team. During his time at Dalhousie, Kent was the President/Team Lead of several societies including the underwater Remote Operated Vehicle Society, the Control Systems group of the Dal Earth Orbit and Space Systems Society and the Dalhousie Renewable Energy Society (DRES). As President of DRES, he was the lead developer of a successful Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) Design Competition. Kent also worked on numerous projects including R&D for a Microbial Fuel Cell Project and developed monitoring devices at a zero-waste sustainable black soldier fly farming operation. With Kilo, Kent has already worked on over 800MW of utility-scale solar projects in western Canada, the US and New Zealand. Kent has also worked on the >600MWdc Travers Solar Project, one of our key projects, which will soon be the largest solar project in Canada.
Welcome Kent!
